# Agent overview

> Telegram and automation clients use the same Ukiyo backend.

## Choose a client

* [Telegram](/connect/telegram): guided rental checkout, GPU management, and API tokens.
* [API](/connect/api): public inventory, prepaid autonomous rentals and authenticated deployment operations.
* [CLI 0.2.2](/connect/cli): public downloadable command-line client.
* [MCP 0.2.0](/connect/mcp): local stdio action server for compatible agent clients.
* [Skill 1.0.1](/connect/skill): instructions for the same autonomous workflow.

Public inventory requires no token. Headless signup creates an account and scoped agent credential without email, browser login or Telegram. None of these clients bypass funding or guarantee provisioning.

## Authentication and installation

New agents use `ukiyo signup --json`, then `balance` and a `topup link` if needed. Existing human-owned accounts may use `ukiyo connect`; private Telegram remains an optional human surface. Keep secrets private.

The CLI, MCP, and Skill install from public [versioned releases](https://u-kiyo.ai/releases/latest.json), without npm or repository access. Follow each client's checksum-verified install steps. Do not rely on `npx @ukiyo/mcp`.

See the [OpenAPI reference](/connect/openapi) for the machine-readable API contract. A payer funds the account once; subsequent authorized rentals are autonomous.
